The much anticipated global media player for WhatsApp for Android was released last week, and the messaging juggernaut—owned by Meta—is now working to introduce a new "App language" option to its app.

Users won't need to alter their device's system language because they may manually change the app's language to their desired language.

WhatsApp will get an “App Language” setting shortly

According to a recent tip from the dependable WhatsApp beta tracker WABetaInfo, WhatsApp's most recent Android beta release (v2.22.8.3) indicates that the company may soon permit Android users can manually switch the app language via a new "App language" feature.

On Android, WhatsApp currently supports 60 different languages, and when users install the app for the first time, the system language is automatically chosen.

Thanks to this new App language setting, users can directly change the app's language through its settings instead of switching the language of their device.

Per-app language options, one of Android 13's significant developments, are comparable to this feature. Android users can change the language of specific apps via the system settings.

The functionality still needs some adjustments even though it is usable as of the most recent developer beta of Android 13.

The capability is now being developed for WhatsApp, and the company intends to offer it in the future update.
