WhatsApp Launches New Desktop App for Windows PCs

Windows WhatsAppWhatsApp has released a new desktop version for Windows PCs, giving users even another method to remain in touch.

As you can see, the new WhatsApp for Windows app, which is currently available in the Microsoft Store, adds another way to access your WhatsApp chats from your PC in a more integrated, simplified manner.

According to WhatsApp:

Our web based pc app (WhatsApp Web) or our browser based app have been used by Desktop users". We're building apps native to Windows and Mac operating systems to enhance the WhatsApp experience for our consumers.

However, users, including businesses, have been able to sign in to WhatsApp for some time, so this is not a significant change in functionality.

However, the new native Windows software will improve reliability and performance while also allowing for more integrated alerts and a better design that is geared for desktop PCs.

This may make it simpler to keep track of all of your numerous social activities in one spot, while for companies, it may help to better combine your customer support efforts into a more centralised hub, with all of your essential platforms available from your primary workstation.

This could be especially significant given that a growing percentage of sharing activity is shifting to private chats.

It was a novelty when social media first arrived to be able to share your point of view with the world via your own broadcast platform that helped you get heard and seen.

However, the drawbacks of that process have gradually pushed more people away from public sharing, causing the rise of ephemeral information, private groups, and messaging apps.

Instagram CEO Adam Mosseri recently stated that "all of the growth in videos and photos from best friend has taken place in stories as well as in DMs."

People are less interested in public engagement than they used to be, which is why providing more ways to communicate via DMs is necessary and for brands, facilitating of that kind within your process could be critical to maximising conversion.

As a result, adding WhatsApp connectivity on desktop might be significant, and it's worth thinking about how this might fit into your larger social management system.

Furthermore, WhatsApp claims that a native Mac version of the platform is in the works.
